PA Amateur Golf Tournament

July 30, 2012

Congratulations to my brother (David) and Anthony (cousin) for playing in the PA Amateur Golf Tournament.  I followed my brother on his first round with my father, who gave me a primar in golf since I never learned to play (although I did plenty of cartwheels on those Scotch Valley Greens growing up as a child).

This was David's first year qualifying (so we were very proud for him to be at the event).  I think this was Anthony's third year playing and 2nd or 3rd top five finish (which is incredible!).

Here are some photos of my brother (Anthony played in the morning...and though I love my family, I love sleeping too, so I didn't get there in time to follow and/or take photos of him).

I have to also mention that my brother's caddy seemed like a really nice kid.  He did a great job and seemed to really be trying to help my brother - Kudos to the great caddy!

My brother, David, and my cousin, Anthony, were representing Scotch Valley Country Club (owned by our family company, the DeGol Organization).

Girls Weekend to Celebrate Mary's 40th Birthday

There are no words to express how thankful I am for some incredible girlfriends - all of whom I met through pageantry!!!

Here are some photos from our trip to Tampa during July of this year.

Cocktails at 9AM - it is 5PM somewhere as my friend Adam pointed out on facebook!

Local outdoor restaurant - we were hot, but needless to say, the dive bar/restaurant next to the bay had awesome seafood!

PJ Time - you are never too old for a girlfriend sleepover

Enjoying the St. Pete Bay next to the complex pool

and later this nice little shark (doesn't it look like a hammerhead?) came by - very, very close to where we were sitting in the water!

Girls weekend is not complete without a photo shoot (Kim and I must have taken 100 photos of each other!)

Ready for our limo to arrive and to hit the town ;-)

Happy Birthday Mary!!!

Night 2 - time to chill out - we went to the restaurant at the pink hotel (where we will never stay because of the foreigners at the pool who do not share our opinions on appropriate displays of public affection.....none the less...you are welcome in the good ole USA anytime to spend money!)

Goodbye St. Pete - thanks for a great weekend with the best girlfriends!  We are truly blessed!

Warehouse Sales

Check out http://www.phillyexpocenter.com/ to learn about upcoming warehouse sales in the area.

I cannot attend the Boden Warehouse Sale on October 13, 2012, but the last time I attended, I got these dresses for $30 or $35 per dress (can't remember, but you get the idea - CHEAP!).

If memory serves me correctly, I bought six dresses that day, one sweater, shirt, and skirt (they were winter items, so they won't make an appearance for awhile).  I still have not worn all the dresses, so lesson learned for me - don't go crazy at the Boden Sale - you may not wear everything that you buy.

However, these two dresses were worth way more than what I spent because I get a lot of compliments when I wear them.  I plan on wearing the pink to court under a navy jacket!

On November 30, the Lilly Pulitzer sale starts!!!  I haven't been to this twice yearly sale for over a year, so I am definitely making plans to attend.  The last time I attended, I bought some dresses, sweaters, and t-shirts.  Lilly t-shirts are my favorite (although the $10 Tommy Hilfiger recently offered at Costco isn't so bad either!).

Even though these are old, here are some of my old Lilly finds:

T-shirt - $20 (I bought two)

More Vacation Wear

I haven't done a real "what I wore" post (meaning - what I wore while at home) because I have been busier than usual traveling!  After the family trip to Bermuda, some girlfriends and I packed up to hit St. Pete, Florida to celebrate Mary's 40th birthday!  So my Sabika Jewelry (minus a few pieces that went with Dr. Ellie to the Mrs. United States Pageant in Las Vegas) was all packed (along with my clothes!) to have a fun filled girls weekend.

Here are a few photos showing what I wore:

It is hard to see, but this is actually a great green dress with chiffon flutter sleeves by Susana Monaco.  It washes in the machine and does not require ironing (can it get any better!).  Like most of my Susana Monaco dresses, I purchased this one from ebay (sorry Neiman Marcus, but I refuse to pay $150 for this dress).

I paired this dress with chanel style jewelry: Sabika necklaces (all from the current Classic Catalog).

Here is our group ready to hit the town (although the limo was a bit late getting to us).  I am wearing an outfit by 2BRych (need to look up this name brand.  I don't know much about it, but this top and shirt are terrific and only about $45 as they were both purchased from ideeli.com).  I paired it with a Fall 2011 Sabika necklace and custom made earrings by Bling Jewelry (you can find her on facebook).

Shoes: Boston Proper - check out their outlet section - that is where I buy pretty much all of my Boston Proper clothing.  I got these shoes on Clearance for about $30.

Photo - this was taken outside an incredible restaurant where we ate dinner.

The birthday girl wearing a beautiful green dress (and I don't know the name brand - shame on me) and she was wearing the Byzantine Necklace, Cross, and Earrings from Sabika's Fall 2011 catalog.

We ate dinner at the famous pink hotel in St. Pete.  It was a beautiful hotel, but there were too many children in the pool for our tastes (we are not a fan of kids belonging to people that we do not know) and the Europeans that stay at the hotel are a bit too publicly fresh (I can handle children.....even bad ones....but I REALLY draw the line at heavy public displays of affection on the lounge chair next to me).  We did not pay to stay in this hotel and we will not ever do so.  However, the food was fantastic and our waiter was great!

Danielle and I both sported white!  My shirt is from Lilly Pulitzer's warehouse sale; shorts by Michael Kors (paid retail....and one of the few purchases that I do not regret).  Necklaces are from Sabika's Spring 2012 catalog.

This photo was snapped about three minutes before a storm.  Not my best photo, but we took individual photos of everyone because the lighting was so incredible!!

Cruise Vacation Wear

I love cruising!  You get to wear casual and dressy clothing all in one vacation!

Here was my wardrobe and jewelry choices (I just love my Sabika jewelry!!!)

Night 1 Dinner:
Dress ASOS
Jewelry - Sabika Necklaces; Sabika Pendant; Elena Maratos Earrings

Formal Night:
Red jersey gown by Tony Bowls and purchased from the terrific Heidi Scheer (www.pageantcouture.com)
Earrings borrowed from my talented jewelry making friend, Heather Hemingway (http://www.heatherhemingway.com/).

Day 3 - Touring Bermuda
I wore khaki shorts that I purchased from a Lily Pulitzer Warehouse Sale; a Banana Republic t-shirt (that is about 5 years old), a Fall 2011 Sabika Necklace and Elena Maratos earrings.

View from our balcony stateroom and picture of us walking around the Bermuda Navy Dockyard.

During the evening, we took a boat tour and Kevin and I had date night on the balcony!

Day 4 - Bermuda Beach
Cover-up by Boden.  I was wearing the matching swimsuit but I don't feel that I am in the best shape of my life, so I have no desire to be photographed in a swimsuit.  Meanwhile, my 41 year old husband works out A LOT and you can tell - he looks incredible!

I wore all white when we walked around Bermuda.
White Shorts by Michael Kors; 3/4 Sleeve T-Shirt by Tommy Hilfiger (Costco $10); Jewelry by Sabika (of course)
Shoes by Earthies (these are the best - they have the arch support built into the shoe!)

Day 5 - Boston Proper Swimsuit and Cover-up - these have to be my favorite pieces!!!!  I love this set even more than the Boden cover-up and swimsuit, which are great too!
I paired this ensemble with a three stone light sapphire rhinestone earrings.

Day 5 - Green Silk Dress by Susana Monaco purchased on ebay for about $50!
I wore the Sabika Byzantine Fall 2011 jewelry set - earrings, rhinestone choker, and rhinestone cross
(sorry the first photo is at an angle - this is my bad self portrait of the whole dress).
Shoes are by Alisha Hill (they are pageant swimsuit shoes).

the three family members who were not sea sick (our table started with six and ended with three)

Day 6 - Pink Dress from ASOS; Necklaces from Sabika's Spring 2012 line and Earrings from Fall 2011 line.
