Christmas Eve 2013

Since Kevin and I skipped Thanksgiving (thank you again morning sickness), we were thrilled to finally see family on Christmas Eve.  I was also sad to miss my family, but at least I had my morning sickness under enough control that I was able to drive to North Carolina prior to Christmas to see Marissa and Hailee (oh yeah....my mom, sister, and brother-in-law also were there....but their purpose in life, in my opinion, is to ensure that Marissa and Hailee are alive and well.....and yes, I expect the same to occur for me after I give birth to Kevin Charles McNair, Junior!).

CONGRATULATIONS TO MARK AND SHANNON ON THEIR ENGAGEMENT!!!!!  The first photo is Shannon and Mark chatting with her brother, Joe, who was in Spain pursuing a professional soccer career.

Enjoy the photos!

WHAT I WORE: Stretchy is KEY here.  My mom said that I looked horrible when visiting North Carolina (she was right!).  So she went shopping and purchased me leggings and this sweater (among other things) from White House Black Market.  I purchased a pair of low-heeled knee high boots to complete the look at Dillards.

Judging Heavenly Angels National Pageant - November 30, 2013

What a great time - seeing my sister queens, Rachel and Ashlee as we judged the Heavenly Angels National Pageant in Harrisburg, PA.

It was so much fun sharing my wonderful pregnancy news with my sister queens!  They are simply the best!
Will it be a prince or princess?  I learned in January of 2014 that it is a prince!!!
What I wore:
Top and Jacket: CaBi
Jewelry: Sabika
Pants: they were CaBi
Shoes: very old boots by Nine West

Dressing was a bit hard because my body had started its pregnancy shift, so I was limited to blousy tops and stretchy bottoms.  Jeans were starting to become quite uncomfortable (and they were not appropriate for a pageant!).  Again, I am grateful for being pregnant, but I don't think anyone could have adequately prepared me for the depression that would set in over losing my body.  I learned to get over it; but it took some time.

What I Wore - November 2013

Soon after taking these photos, morning sickness (aka - ALL DAY SICKNESS) proceeded to invade my body.  I am grateful to be pregnant, but I did not relish the approximately 7 weeks off of life that I took when I pretty much slept all day, ate a lot, and skipped exercising because I could never predict a "safe" time to exercise.  One of my last training sessions, I stretched on the floor because I had zero energy left and wanted to just crawl into bed.

Jacket: Matilda Jane
Lace Top + Cami: CaBi Clothing
Jeans: Cabi
Shoes: Dansko (I wear these about 85% of the time, the other 15%, I am required to dress up enough that these shoes are not appropriate).
Jewelry: Mix of Sabika and Elena Maratos.

Punkin Chunkin November 3, 2013

For the past six years, I have been a volunteer co-director for the Punkin Chunkin Pageant held in conjuction with the World Championship Punkin Chunkin Association's annual festival.  I like to say that we bring some sparkle to the corn fields!

Dr. Ellie started this pageant and gained the permission and support of the Association.  The pageant assists in bringing new individuals to enjoy an incredible the fundraising Chunk festival, which celebrates unique innovations in throwing pumpkins.

I wish I would have put my crown and sash on for more photos, but it is dirty there....so as much as I wanted to wear the crown and sash all day, I also wanted a clean crown and sash to take home.  Nonethless, I regret not getting more photos - where else does your crown sit atop a fleece pumpkin hat!

On the Friday before the Sunday pageant, I learned that I was pregnant!!!!  After 2.5 years of trying to conceive, it was an understatement to say that my husband and I were over the moon!  We have since learned through DNA testing that we are going to be giving birth to Kevin Charles McNair, Junior!

So, before pageant festivities really started, I had the fun of announcing my pregnancy to my friends (who help make this pageant possible each and every year!).  I met Susan and Kim at a restaurant in Rehobeth Beach on Saturday night (we always stay overnight to have a quicker drive on Sunday morning).  I walked into the restaurant and showed them a picture of what Kevin got me while we were on vacation:
Needless to say, we were all crying....and then Kim and Susan enjoyed cocktails.....I watched ;-)

The next morning, I did the same with Ellie!  So exciting to share such wonderful news with close friends!
